Aussie golfer Scott wins Nissan Open
Australian golfer Adam Scott has won the rain-hit Nissan Open in a sudden-death playoff in Los Angeles.
The 24-year-old edged out American Chad Campbell at the first extra hole, where he tapped in from three feet for a par, after the tournament was reduced to two rounds following four days of heavy rain at Riviera Country Club.
Campbell missed a four-foot putt to save par at the hole, the par-four 18th, after missing the green to the right with his approach.
Organisers were forced to abandon the proposed third round on Monday morning after rain had left the par-71 layout saturated.
Campbell, who fired a six-under-par 65 on Friday, and Scott, after a 66 on Sunday, had finished the 36 holes level on nine-under 133, a stroke ahead of Britons Darren Clarke and Brian Davis.
