Tallis to join NRL board
Former Brisbane and Australia captain Gorden Tallis has been appointed to the board of the National Rugby League, it was reported in New Limited papers.
He replaces former dual international John Brass as one of three News Limited representatives on the six-member board.
Tallis, who is 31, is facing his first year of injury-forced retirement from football after a 12-year career.
"I think the board will work pretty much like a footy team," Tallis said.
"We may have different ideas on how the game should be played but we have a common goal - to keep going forward.
"I have been there at the coalface....that's a positive I can take to the table"
