Crocs win Queensland derby
The Townsville Crocodiles have snapped their four game losing streak, taking out the Queensland derby 129-108 over the Brisbane Bullets.
Robert Browns led the charge with 32 points as six Crocs hit double figures.
Brad Newley scored 19 points and Casey Calvary 17 for the hosts.
Coach Ian Stacker paid special attention to Brown and Newley, who provided energy at both ends of the court.
"I think they're catalysts for the team to get excited and get the blood pumping," Stacker said.
After a series of poor displays at the offensive end, the Crocs high powered offence clicked for the first time this season.
"Tonight showed they're starting to get some faith in their teammates and some faith in the offence," Stacker said.
The Bullets struggled without Kevin Freeman, with the bulk of the scoring left up to perimeter players Stephen Black (23 points) and Derek Rucker (21), while hard-working forward Bobby Brannen contributed 22.
Bullets Coach Joey Wright said the prognosis on Freemans' groin injury wasn't good, with former Hunter and Victoria player Miles Pearce a chance of coming into the line-up on an injury waiver.
"He'll (Freeman) probably miss the next two games and will be back for the Wollongong game," Wright said.
