McGee into final of 4000m pursuit
Australia's Brad McGee has qualified for Saturday's gold medal race in the 4000m individual pursuit against Great Britain's Bradley Wiggins.
McGee, the 2002 world champion, clocked 4:17.978 in his first round heat against German Robert Bartko, a fraction slower than Wiggins who recorded 4:17.215.
McGee's teammate Luke Roberts finished fifth overall after riding 4:20.336 in losing his heat to Spanish world champion Sergi Escobar.
Escobar will ride for the bronze medal against Britain's Rob Hayles.
