McGee wins Route du Sud final stage
Australian rider Bradley McGee won the Route du Sud cycling race after the fourth and final stage.
Thomas Voeckler of La Boulangere team won the 150.1km final stage from Montrejeau with a comfortable 2min 05sec lead on fellow French rider Stephane Goubert with Italy's Cristian Moreni third at 4:01.
Fdjeux.com rider McGee, who claimed the title after taking the lead following Monday's time-trial where he beat Britain's David Millar, finished the stage in ninth position but it was enough to give him an overall 22 seconds advantage on French teammate Sandy Casar.
Voeckler dominated the final mountain stage with the only scare coming at the Peyresourde pass when Estonian Janek Tombak broke away before being quickly caught by Casar and McGee.
Voeckler, Goubert and Cedric Herve attacked on the climb to Aspin.
Herve fell away at the summit with Voeckler coasting to victory ahead of Goubert.
