* Gower demanded an apology from John Chalk over remarks the NSWRL board member;
* Willie Mason's mother said she was ready to ask her son to give the game away;
* Sydney Roosters pair Anthony Minichiello and Craig Wing were stood down for the club's next game against the New Zealand Warriors for breaching the club's code;
* Sydney Roosters coach and former NSW halfback Ricky Stuart claimed rugby league had a binge drinking problem and called on Anthony Minichiello to be selected in the Blues side for Origin II;
* The NSWRL board confirmed the appointment of independent investigator Michael Meagher despite increasing doubt in regard to allegations of misbehaviour by two players on a Darlinghurst street;
