Oliver wins Hong Kong championship
Champion Victorian jockey Damien Oliver won the Hong Kong international jockeys' championship at Happy Valley
Oliver rode one winner and one place-getter in the three races that made up the championship.
The result was good enough to earn him a $HK200,000 bonus and invitation to compete again next year.
With 20 points, Oliver finished one point clear of American rider Victor Esbinoza.
The series featured jockeys from Australia, New Zealand, England, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy and Hong Kong.
As well as Oliver's victory, Sydney trainer John Size led in three winners on the seven-race card, which is a prelude to Sunday's rich international race meeting.
