Hong Kong Bledisloe gets thumbs up
The Australian and New Zealand Rugby Unions have confirmed this year's fourth Bledisloe Cup Test in Hong Kong will go ahead as planned.
Reports had suggested the October 30 match was in doubt because of poor ticket sales, with only around 14,000 sold for the 40,000-capacity Hong Kong Stadium.
"We're confident the match in Hong Kong will be another entertainment package no sporting fan would want to miss," ARU boss John O'Neill said in a statement.
"The quality of rugby in this year's Bledisloe Cup series has been outstanding."
The All Blacks retained the Bledisloe with the second of their three straight victories over the Wallabies in this year's Tri-Nations series.
Australia will seek to break a 10-match losing streak against New Zealand in the clash, which comes en route to the Wallabies' European spring tour featuring Tests against Wales, England, Italy and France.
Hong Kong Rugby Football Union chairman Trevor Gregory said a sponsorship deal for the event was imminent.
"The HKRFU and the sports fans in Hong Kong and around the region are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the teams and we look forward to welcoming them with Hong Kong's famous hospitality," he said.
