Souths re-sign Stuart until 2008
South Sydney re-signed forward Luke Stuart until the end of the 2008 NRL season.
Stuart, 30, has played 113 NRL games for the Rabbitohs and was the first player to record 100 first grade games for the club since reinstatement to the NRL.
Stuart said he was looking forward to being part of the club's charge to this year's NRL finals and the future rise of South Sydney.
"I'm really happy at Souths and as we have shown on the field this year we are definitely a club on the move," said Stuart.
"I'm sure some good weeks, months and years lie ahead for everyone associated with the club.
"It's been a pretty good year so far but there is still a lot more to be done, playing finals football with the Rabbitohs has been a big aim of mine ever since I came here.
"Now that my future has been decided I just want to knuckle down with my footy and finish off this season in a great fashion."
Souths chief executive Shane Richardson said the club was pleased to retain the versatile forward.
"Luke has been fantastic for the club ever since we were admitted back into the competition," Richardson said.
"He has been an important player for us again in 2007 and we are very happy that he has agreed to stay with the club for another 12 months.
"We look forward to Luke playing his part in our successes for the rest of this season and the next."
