Jonny ready to put the boot in
If England drop kicks its way to victory in the Rugby World Cup on Saturday don't send any complaints to Jonny Wilkinson.
Wilkinson and England dug in as they were blasted for killing running rugby and their reliance on Wilkinson's goal-kicking.
Former New Zealand great Grant Batty has already suggested reducing the value of a drop goal to increase running rugby while World Cup-winning Wallabies forward Rod McCall said field goals were a soft option.
However, one Englishman pointed out that Australia should be careful what they say about drop goals after Stephen Larkham's extra-time effort got the Wallabies into the final in 1999.
The fact Wilkinson has kicked seven drop goals in the tournament - six more than anyone else - and can kick them off both feet will be a huge concern for the Wallabies on Saturday night.
The wonder-boot, however, was not moved by calls to reduce the value of his best weapon.
"I'm not necessarily the person to talk to about that," Wilkinson said.
"It's the way the game is, it's part of the laws and that's the way it's going to stay on Saturday."
Team-mate Lawrence Dallaglio said the fact Wilkinson kicked lots of penalties was not the fault of England.
"If teams are going to give away penalties then we have to make them pay," he said.
