McVeigh withdraws from Bombers clash
Sydney co-captain Jarrad McVeigh has withdrawn from Saturday night's AFL clash with Essendon due to personal reasons.
McVeigh was due to travel to Melbourne on Saturday morning to join his team-mates but wished to remain in Sydney with his wife Clementine and daughter Luella.
Clementine gave birth last week but baby Luella is experiencing complications.
The midfielder will be replaced in the Swans' side by forward Trent Dennis-Lane.
Sydney had named an unchanged line-up for a match with huge finals implications.
Sixth-placed Sydney risk conceding ground to a chasing pack of finals aspirants, including the ninth-placed Bombers, should they lose.
The Bombers have made no late changes, with recalled trio Dustin Fletcher, Michael Hurley and Heath Hocking all taking their place in the selected side.
