GWS make huge AFL offer to Scully
Greater Western Sydney has made a five-year offer to Melbourne AFL star Tom Scully believed to be $1 million a year.
The Herald Sun says Scully's management group, Velocity Sports, confirmed that a substantial offer has been made for the Demons' midfielder from Sydney's new AFL team which enters the league next year.
The paper said that neither Velocity's Peter Blucher nor the club's head of football Graham Allan would discuss the money or the term of the contract.
"Melbourne upped the ante significantly a couple of weeks ago and we invited them (GWS) to put something in writing to us, which they've done," Blucher said.
"We haven't told Tom what it is - only that it's substantial and it warrants due consideration."
