Aussie prop to miss Super League season
Injury-jinxed Australian prop Josh Perry will miss the rest of the Super League season after being told he needs to undergo hamstring surgery.
The former Manly Sea Eagles forward is facing three months on the sidelines.
The 30-year-old, who is in his first year with St Helens, sustained the injury in the early stages of the Saints' 28-14 win over Hull last Friday and will have an operation later this week.
It is the latest blow in an injury-ravaged 12 months for Perry, who missed the opening month of the English season while recovering from a broken leg.
"He'll feel disappointed about his first season in England. He's bounced from one injury to another," coach Royce Simmonds said.
