Fielden keen to fight Mason
Willie Mason's old sparring partner Stuart Fielden is keen for the pair to put on the gloves for real.
Mason, who flattened the English prop with a savage punch in an international match in 2006, arrived this month in England for a Super League stint with Hull KR.
The long-time Bulldogs enforcer has missed out on an opportunity to cross paths with the fiery Fielden next month because the Wigan prop is set to undergo another round of knee surgery.
But Fielden, 31, says he is more than happy to step into the ring against his tormentor once he regains full fitness.
"There's talk about a fight being organised between us for charity," he told the Sunday Mirror.
"I've heard that Willie is keen and it is something I'd like to do too.
"I fought Hull captain Lee Radford in a boxing match and 4,000 fans turned up to raise STG77,000."
"After my knee surgery I don't know when it could be arranged but I'd love to do it again."
"I've played more than 430 games, appeared in 14 finals and won 37 caps - but from all the publicity about the Mason incident some people think that's the only match I've played."
