Blues comforted by Hayne's presence
He was out, now he's back and Jarryd Hayne's NSW team-mates are taking plenty of comfort in knowing the Parramatta superstar is ready to unleash himself again in the State of Origin arena.
The proven match-winner is likely to bob up all over the ANZ Stadium field in Wednesday night's must-win clash with Queensland, something his Blues colleagues are keenly anticipating.
"He's certainly a very, very talented guy and it's nice to have him in your team, that's for sure," hooker Michael Ennis told AAP on Thursday.
"He is a guy that can do things that not many people can do so I think that adds some uncertainty to our side.
"Queensland will certainly do a lot of work on Jarryd but it's another thing trying to stop it."
Ennis played Origin with Hayne in 2010 and the Canterbury hooker said, once the Eels fullback took to the field, he brought a readiness to do whatever was humanly possible.
"He's a pretty relaxed sort of guy but just when he gets on that field he's intense," Ennis said.
"He's always around the footy and in moments in need in games you always tend to see him popping up.
"It's nice to know you've got guys like that in your side."
Blues prop Tim Mannah played in the 2009 NRL grand final with Hayne and he said the pair were preparing for something much tougher than the club competition decider.
"It's definitely different," Mannah said. "You're playing the best from every team.
"When you've got players like they have you've always got to be ready for a massive clash.
"As courageous as that first (Origin) game was and as good as the effort was, at the end of the day it still was a loss.
"We're going into this game knowing a loss won't do this time, the series is on the line and only a win will do."
