Boyd signs four-year deal with Knights
Newcastle have confirmed St George Illawarra star Darius Boyd will continue his relationship with master coach Wayne Bennett by switching to the Knights at the end of the 2011 NRL season.
Boyd, who followed Bennett from Brisbane to the Dragons, has signed a four-year contract with Newcastle.
The Knights lured seven-time premiership winning mentor Bennett for the same period in April following mining magnate Nathan Tinkler's takeover of the club.
"The signing of an international and premiership-winning player clearly highlights the enthusiasm of NRL players wanting to join the club and be part of our exciting future," Hunter Sports Group chief executive Troy Palmer said in a club statement.
"It is very important that we don't get in front of ourselves and continue to concentrate on our current job of a top eight semi-final position this year."
Boyd will join big name signings Kade Snowden and Timana Tahu, while the club has also recently locked up current stars Kurt Gidley and Junior Sa'u.
