Eade the new International Rules coach
Western Bulldogs mentor Rodney Eade has been appointed coach of the Australian team for the next two International Rules series against Ireland.
Eade replaces Collingwood coach Mick Malthouse, who ended his two-year tenure with victory in the series in Ireland last year.
The decision was announced at Thursday's annual general meeting of the AFL Coaches Association (AFLCA).
Following his appointment as coach of new franchise Greater Western Sydney, Kevin Sheedy has stood down as AFLCA president.
He will be replaced by former Hawthorn and Carlton premiership coach David Parkin.
Eade and St Kilda's Ross Lyon replace Mark Thompson and Paul Roos on the AFLCA executive.
