Bomber rookie cleared of high contact
The AFL match review panel cleared Essendon rookie Stewart Crameri of head-high contact, meaning there will be no tribunal this week.
Crameri made high contact with Collingwood onballer Dale Thomas in the third term of Friday night's pre-season final, which the Magpies won by 22 points.
The panel ruled that the two players were going for the ball and Thomas contributed to the impact.
"It was the view of the panel that Thomas' momentum forward contributed to the high contact made and a free kick was immediately paid by the umpire at the time," an AFL statement read.
"It was the assessment of the panel that the high contact made by Crameri on Thomas was of insufficient force to be a reportable offence."
