Ablett to play Cats in round 10
Star Gold Coast recruit Gary Ablett will have his first AFL regular-season match against old side Geelong in round 10 next year.
The Suns will host the Cats on May 28, when they unveil their home-ground development at Carrara.
Ablett was the No.1 recruiting target for Gold Coast and they scored a massive coup when they enticed him north with a multi-million dollar deal.
The AFL had already announced that Gold Coast would play their first game at Carrara as a night fixture on May 28.
Now the league's website has reported that Geelong will play in the high-profile clash.
It is unclear whether the Suns and Cats could meet after round one of the NAB Cup.
Geelong will also host Gold Coast later in the season.
The AFL will announce their home-and-away draw this Friday.
