Panthers' Luke Lewis still in doubt
Penrith coach Matt Elliott has admitted skipper Luke Lewis is not 100 per cent and remains in doubt for Saturday's NRL qualifying final with Canberra at CUA Stadium.
Lewis who is carrying a calf injury trained with the team on Friday morning but Elliott revealed the representative back rower could not run at full pace.
"Lewie trained, I wouldn't say he ran free," Elliott said.
"The big test for us now is to see how he pulls up tomorrow but he trained pretty well.
"It was a nice, short, sharp session and there was plenty of energy there."
But while Lewis is not a certain starter Penrith have no concerns over halfback Luke Walsh who returns from an ankle complaint.
"He's fine, he's done every session this week so he's fine," Elliott said.
Dynamic fullback Lachlan Coote trained away from the main group and is still at least a week away from returning from a groin injury.
"It's a really weird injury, it's basically based on his confidence on how he can run," Elliott added.
"I'm hopeful that he will be right and available for selection in our next game."
