Cloke sought MCG practice for kicking
Collingwood forward Travis Cloke admits his wayward kicking for goal in AFL games has been such a concern he sought extra practice at the MCG.
Cloke has had another poor season with his conversion, with 23.24 from 16 games, including 2.5 in last Saturday's win over Carlton.
Cloke said he was working hard at addressing the problem, and even had Magpies football manager Geoff Walsh contact the Melbourne Cricket Club to seek permission for a private training session on the MCG.
"I approached Walshy down at the club yesterday to see if he'd give them a call but I got a call back late last night saying I wasn't able to because there was a bit too much traffic there this weekend," he told the Nine Network on Thursday night.
"Twenty kicks is a bit too much to have on the MCG."
The MCG will host three games this weekend, including the table-topping clash between the Magpies and Geelong on Saturday night.
Cloke admitted he clearly had a problem a month out from the finals.
"It's not going straight, it's shanking," he said.
"It's not missing by a metre or just not scraping in, it's missing by a huge margin, so it is a bit of a worry.
"I'm doing everything I can to improve it.
"I'm working day in day out to improve the little things, but obviously I'm not performing at the right time.
"It's certainly a bit of an issue kicking five points."
