Adcock facing eight weeks out
Brisbane Lions vice-captain Jed Adcock is facing eight weeks on the AFL sidelines after undergoing surgery on a broken foot on Thursday.
Adcock fractured a metatarsal in the Lions two-goal loss to Adelaide on Sunday in a further blow to the injury-riddled club.
Coach Michael Voss said early indications were that he would need almost two months to recover.
Voss said veteran Travis Johnstone would be recalled to fill the skilful half-back's shoes in Saturday night's clash with Collingwood at the Gabba.
"He will more than likely play," Voss said of Johnstone before a closed training session on Thursday morning.
"Obviously his ability to use the footy is a strength of his so to get him back into the side is going to be important."
