Woosha sets out welcome mat for Cousins
West Coast coach John Worsfold still rates Ben Cousins as a friend and says the former club skipper would be welcomed back to the AFL club with open arms.
Cousins, now playing with Richmond, was sacked by the Eagles at the end of 2007 after his drug use spiralled out of control.
On Tuesday night, Cousins said he regretted the way his actions caused a breakdown in relationship between himself and Worsfold.
Cousins said he still considered Worsfold as friend and the Eagles coach reciprocated.
"I'm there to support Ben in any way as a friend as he needs and my support for him is always open," Worsfold said on Wednesday.
"We keep in contact and I'm rapt to see him going so well.
"As I've always said I'll support him all the way through, well beyond football connections.
"He can walk into this club and be welcomed tomorrow, because he's a life member of our football club.
"He is welcome back at any time and Ben's certainly aware of that."
Meanwhile, Worsfold confirmed captain Darren Glass was battling groin soreness but said the defender was almost certain to line up against Melbourne on Saturday at the MCG.
"He's not quite 100 per cent but he's still pretty good, should be right to play," Worsfold said.
"Not many players are (100 per cent) in the competition at this stage.
"He's carrying some soreness but not enough to concern us that he'll miss games.
"He's not at his best form but he hasn't been too bad."
