Cooper escapes injury in car accident
Wallabies back Quade Cooper was unhurt and flying to New Zealand with the Queensland Reds on Wednesday after a car accident in Brisbane on Tuesday night.
Cooper said everyone in both cars escaped injury and he felt for the young woman driver of the other vehicle who was "pretty shaken up".
The accident happened in rainy conditions as he drove out to dinner near his home in Bulimba in Brisbane's inner east.
"It's sweet as," Cooper told AAP from Brisbane airport. "It wasn't anything serious.
"It was a typical wet weather accident. It was a young girl and her mum with their family and she missed a give way sign but everyone is all right."
Cooper said his car needed repair work but wasn't concerned about that.
"It will be fixed. It is only a car. The main thing is that everyone was okay," he said.
"I was more concerned for the young girl. She was okay but pretty shaken up."
The Reds take on the Chiefs on Friday in Hamilton and can ill afford to lose any more players to injury with Digby (knee), Peter Hynes (finger dislocation) and Rod Davies (fractured cheekbone) already ruled out.
