Slater key to stopping Storm: Henjak
Billy Slater's tryscoring record at Etihad Stadium defies belief but he isn't the only Melbourne player on Brisbane coach Ivan Henjak's watch-list.
Slater has scored a remarkable 11 tries in his four appearances at the Melbourne Docklands venue, including a hat-trick for Australia in last year's World Cup and a scintillating four try performance in the Storm's qualifying final flogging of Manly just two weeks ago.
While the electric fullback outscored the Sea Eagles by himself in the 40-12 annihilation, Henjak says the Queensland star's phenomenal record hasn't been mentioned in the Brisbane game plans.
"We haven't mentioned anything about Billy or his records," said Henjak.
"We have talked about where he is dangerous and what we need to do to limit his opportunities but nothing about his records."
Henjak named Storm skipper Cameron Smith as another crucial cog in the well-oiled Melbourne machine, and said the hooker and Slater were the biggest obstacles standing in front of a Broncos victory.
"It's no secret who their big guns are,' he said.
"Cameron Smith rolls them up the field really well with his forwards and Billy Slater is pretty crucial for them.
"Those two guys we need to do a really good job on.
"Then there is Greg Inglis, he is dangerous out wide.
"They have some good players, their playmakers are really good as well. I just think Smith and Slater are pretty much the key."
