AFL warns grand finalists over behaviour
The AFL have sent their annual warning to the grand finalists - you will pay dearly for any over-the-top aggression.
The football operations manager Adrian Anderson has contacted St Kilda and Geelong, reminding them about the extra penalties for grand final offences.
"Both clubs were reminded that players found guilty of reportable offences in the grand final, as the showpiece match of the season, are subject to double penalties under the AFL tribunal system," the league said in a statement.
The Saints and Cats are hard, big-bodied sides, but their epic round-14 clash was notably free of untoward aggression.
But St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt is certain to receive plenty of attention from the Cats defence.
Star midfielders such as Geelong's newly-crowned Brownlow Medallist Gary Ablett and in-form Saint Lenny Hayes are certain to receive heavy tags.
