Kidwell on the way out at Rabbitohs
South Sydney forward David Kidwell says he is resigned to leaving the Rabbitohs at the end of the season but is confident he can secure a deal with another NRL club.
With Souths splashing the cash on Brisbane front-rower David Taylor for next season and Queensland Origin forward Mick Crocker almost certain to be offered an extended deal, Kidwell admitted his days at the club look numbered.
"It's not looking good for me at Souths, I would like to stay in the NRL that is for sure and I need to get my manager onto it," Kidwell told AAP.
"I would love to stay but I think they would have offered me something by now if they wanted to keep me.
"It is a bit of a hard situation at the moment, hopefully what I have done in the game in the past will hold me in good stead.
"I definitely feel I have something to offer and hopefully a coach will show some faith in me and give me an opportunity."
The 32-year-old New Zealand World Cup winner, who won a grand final with Melbourne in 2007, said although his family was settled in Sydney, he would relish the chance to return across the Tasman and play for the Warriors.
"It would be great to play for the Warriors, I grew up in New Zealand and if the opportunity arises then I would jump at it, they are a great club," he said.
Kidwell also played down reports of any issues in the Souths camp following claims of a player revolt against coach Jason Taylor.
"I think we just need a win, we haven't won for a while, when you haven't won for a while there is always pressure there," he said.
"As far as I know there are no issues between the players and the coach, we just need a win to get our season back on track again, once that happens everyone will be talking about football again."
