Richmond hand AFL debut to Vickery
Richmond's top draft pick Tyrone Vickery will make his AFL debut in Saturday night's match against West Coast at Etihad Stadium.
The 19-year-old, 200cm ruck-forward was the No.8 pick overall in last year's national draft.
His father John, a former Collingwood player, is the Tigers' rehabilitation and conditioning coach.
The match will also be the first game in charge for Richmond caretaker coach Jade Rawlings and the first time star recruit Ben Cousins plays against his former club.
West Coast had already indicated that their top pick, Nic Naitanui, is likely to make his debut in the same game.
Naitanui, also a ruckman, was taken at No.2 by the Eagles.
If the West Coast 19-year-old plays it will mean that every one of the top nine picks from last year's draft will have made a start to their AFL careers.
The No.1 pick, Melbourne key forward Jack Watts, made his debut in Monday's big loss to Collingwood at the MCG.
