Zantuck's fate to be decided in draft
The fate of former Richmond defender Ty Zantuck and Carlton's pick will attract the main interest in Tuesday's AFL pre-season draft.
Only seven clubs will take part in the draft, which will feature eight picks, with most teams having already finalised their 2005 lists.
The Tigers will have the first pick and will use it to secure former St Kilda ruckman Trent Knobel.
Collingwood is committed to former Brisbane and Essendon premiership player Blake Caracella at No.2.
The Blues were keen at No.3 to snare Knobel, who had trained with them in the last few weeks.
They might use the pick now on a younger, untried player.
Former Hawthorn player Lance Picioane will go to the Kangaroos at No.4 and Jarrad Schofield is set to go from Port Adelaide to Fremantle with the fifth pick.
That leaves Zantuck, with Essendon at six and Port at No.7.
The Bombers and Richmond tried to negotiate a deal for Zantuck in trade week, but the paperwork was not done in time.
Should Zantuck go to Essendon, Port might then pick up former Essendon and Richmond midfielder Justin Blumfield.
