Bulls wait to see whether Olivier fit
Northern Bulls will decide on Friday whether injured centre Wynand Olivier is fit for Saturday's Super 14 final against the Waikato Chiefs.
The inside centre hurt a hip and was forced to retire early in a victory over Coastal Sharks in Durban two weeks ago and missed the semi-final triumph over defending champions Canterbury Crusaders last weekend.
Bulls coach Frans Ludeke said Olivier trained with his team-mates on Tuesday and would be replaced by Marius Delport if unavailable for the southern hemisphere rugby union championship climax in Pretoria.
Delport played against Crusaders as Bulls recovered from a 13-point deficit by scoring 20 points late in the first half en route to a 36-23 triumph and a second appearance in the final.
Bulls pipped Sharks 20-19 in the 2007 decider thanks to a last-minute try from Springbok wing Bryan Habana, one of many survivors from that team who will face Chiefs.
The Pretoria franchise start as favourites before a sell-out 52,000 crowd at Loftus Versfeld and have the psychological advantage of a 33-27 home victory over Waikato last month in the round-robin phase.
