Former Wallabies forward Justin Harrison was cited on Wednesday for allegedly making contact with the eyes or eye area of England captain Steve Borthwick.

The alleged incident took place after the final whistle of Bath's 33-18 Premiership victory over Saracens last Saturday.

Saracens second-row Borthwick joined the club from Bath at the start of the season with fellow lock Harrison, 35, arriving at the west country side from Irish province Ulster at around the same time.

A brawl involving several players took place following an ill-tempered match that saw three Saracens players - Tom Mercey, Hugh Vyvyan and Andy Saull - all sent to the sin-bin.

Harrison, who could face a lengthy ban if found guilty, was reported by citing commissioner Peter Larter and will now appear before a hearing chaired by Rugby Football Union disciplinary officer His Honour Judge Jeff Blackett in London this coming Tuesday.

Bath face a Premiership play-off against Leicester on May 9. Victory would see them face either Harlequins or London Irish seven days later for the right to be crowned champions of England.

Harrison won 34 caps for the Wallabies between 2001 to 2004 after launching his Test career as a member of the Australia side that eight years ago enjoyed a series win over the British and Irish Lions.
