Bulls face anxious wait on Habana
Springbok and Northern Bulls star Bryan Habana will discover on Sunday the extent of a hand injury which forced him to leave the field during a Super 14 match.
The flying winger was seen with a heavily bandaged hand after being taken off 55 minutes into a game against South African rivals Lions at Ellis Park on Saturday which the Bulls won 16-9 to stay top of the table.
"We will know how serious the injury is only after x-rays have been taken on Sunday, but the team doctor suspects it may be as bad as a fracture," Bulls coach Frans Ludeke said.
Bulls doctor Org Strauss told reporters immediately after the match that he feared 2007 World Rugby Player of the Year Habana could be sidelined for up to a month.
Habana is a key cog in a Bulls team that has also defeated the Queensland Reds and Auckland Blues this season.
Should Habana be ruled out for a month, he will miss a match against the Stormers in Pretoria next Saturday and away games against the Hurricanes and Highlanders in New Zealand.
