Dockers name Hasleby in squad
Fremantle's All-Australian midfielder Paul Hasleby is set to start his AFL comeback in round one of the pre-season competition.
The Dockers have named Hasleby in the squad of 29 for the round-one NAB Cup match against Richmond on Sunday night at Subiaco.
Hasleby only played one NAB Cup match last year before suffering the knee injury that required a reconstruction, putting him out for the year.
His last regular-season match was round 21, 2007.
The Dockers squad of 29 also features Daniel Gilmore, who missed half of last season with a migraine problem.
The squads announced on Thursday for Sunday's Subiaco game and the Brisbane-Richmond match on Saturday night at Carrara feature two round-one draft selections.
Fremantle's Stephen Hill was named at No.3 and Brisbane took Daniel Rich at seven.
Brisbane only have 28 available players for the Carrara game, with star players such as Jonathan Brown, Simon Black and Daniel Bradshaw all unavailable.
As expected, Richmond left out the year's biggest recruit, Ben Cousins, and former captain Kane Johnson for the match.
But Matthew Richardson, Nathan Brown and Troy Simmonds were named, as were recruits Adam Thomson (Port Adelaide) and Tom Hislop (Essendon).
The Saints left out Lenny Hayes (calf) and Steven Baker (knee), but injury-plagued key defender Matt Maguire is set to play his first football against another club for 10 months.
Irish player Colm Begley is keen to impress after Brisbane cut him last year, almost ending his AFL career.
St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt had knee surgery late last month and will miss the pre-season competition.
