Mieres signs with French club Perpignan
Argentine five eighth Ignacio Mieres has signed for French rugby club Perpignan till the end of the season in place of injured All Blacks star Dan Carter.
Carter underwent surgery for a partially torn Achilles tendon on February 6, putting him out of rugby for six months.
The 22-year-old Mieres, originally from the Deportivo Francesa club and who has made one appearance for Argentina, arrived at French club Stade Francais from Leicester at the start of the season but the foreign-player quota meant he could not play.
