Cross set for Perpignan debut
Former Australian international Ryan Cross is set to make his debut for French side Perpignan against Racing-Metro on Saturday.
The 31-year-old centre, who played Super Rugby this year for NSW Waratahs, joined the Catalan club on a three-month contract.
The former Sydney Roosters NRL winger was signed as cover for the injured Jean-Philippe Grandclaude as well as David Marty and Maxime Mermoz who are on World Cup duty with France in New Zealand.
He's likely to join forces with Rudy Coetzee in the centre as Perpignan look to build on their impressive 25-6 win over Castres in last week's opening round of games.
"I am looking forward to getting out on the field on Saturday against a very good Racing Metro team," said Cross, who scored four tries in eight Tests for the Wallabies after he switched codes in 2006.
"It's a good challenge for the team and for me."
