Kennett makes a fashion statement
One of the AFL's worst fashion items made a triumphant return as Hawthorn president Jeff Kennett celebrated a famous premiership.
Kennett has kept his brown-and-gold striped jacket in the cupboard for most of this season.
But he was wearing it with pride after the Hawks caused a major upset and beat Geelong by 26 points in the grand final.
"We haven't worn it all year, we didn't want to get involved in gimmicks. But we were prepared to wear it if we won," he said.
Kennett heaped praise on his team, saying the whole club deserved credit for Saturday's success.
"It's a good win. It's what we've aimed for (over) three years, let alone this year," he said
"It was a tough game. I hope it will be a standard of the modern era for a decade to come. I'm very proud of the entire club."
