Hall wants Swans captaincy full-time
Ambitious Sydney spearhead Barry Hall has the opportunity to prove he is capable of becoming the AFL club's permanent captain against Carlton on Saturday night.
Hall will run out as acting captain for Saturday night's clash at Telstra Dome, the first time the powerful full forward has captained a football team at any level.
It is a challenge the former St Kilda player has been eagerly awaiting.
"I've been looking forward to it for a few weeks now and I've got a couple of weeks to prove myself," Hall said.
With the Swans currently rotating the captaincy, after Stuart Maxfield stepped down, Hall said he wanted the role full-time.
"Of course you would, any player would want to captain their club," he said.
"But when it comes down to it, if I'm not the guy who can take the Swans where they want to go, well that's fine, because I know we've got a lot of good leaders in this footy club."
Hall said given his absence of any previous captaincy experience, he was likely to be "jittery" before hand, but was confident he would make a good fist of it.
"I haven't captained at all, even at junior level, so it's a very big step-up for me," he said.
"But nothing changes from my point of view.
