Barry Hall sees psychiatrist
Barry Hall has visited a psychiatrist in order to find out why he may have snapped and knocked out West Coast Eagles defender Brent Staker.
The Sydney AFL forward, who was suspended for seven weeks for the incident, told Fairfax newspapers the psychiatrist was examining all aspects of his life including a recent relationship break-up.
"The most important thing for me now is to try and find out why it happened," Hall said.
"The situation I was in, there was no real reason to do it. That's probably the most worrying thing for me and the footy club..."
Hall said he was mystified as to why he acted the way he did.
"I suppose I've been in far worse situations and he (Staker) was grabbing me and stuff like that but those sort of things happen all the time."
He said he probably could have easily reacted like that last year when he had a series of injuries and he was "more frustrated then than any stage of my career".
Hall, who injured his hand during the drama-charged match after hitting a steel bar fence, is expected to need eight to ten weeks for it to heal.
