Hurricanes bring back Collins for Blues
The Hurricanes made two changes as expected following the availability of Jerry Collins and the suspension of Neemia Tialata for their Super 14 rugby match against the Blues at Eden Park on Friday.
Collins returns to the team after missing three games, having recovered from a rib injury, and fellow All Black Tialata has been suspended for a week after being cited for a dangerous tackle against the Force last Friday.
Collins slots back to his customary blindside flanker alongside loose forwards Chris Masoe and captain Rodney So'oialo, with Scott Waldrom dropping back into the reserves.
John Schwalger joins the front row alongside hooker Andrew Hore and Tim Fairbrother in place of prop Tialata.
As a combination, the Hurricanes management don't see Tialata's absence in the front row as a major loss but are glad to regain Collins for his experience.
Young flyhalf Willie Ripia retains his place ahead of veteran Jimmy Gopperth, as do wingers Hosea Gear and Zac Guildford ahead of Shannon Paku for this last round-robin that will decide which three teams will join the Crusaders for the semifinals.
A draw or even a bonus point maybe enough for the Hurricanes to retain a top-four place.
