Tune to retire at end of season
Queensland and Wallaby outside back Ben Tune is set to retire at the end of the Super 14 season.
Tune told The Australian newspaper that his "body has just had enough" and that he "couldn't ignore it any longer".
Tune was regarded as one of the best wingers in the world during his prime and was a key component of Australia's 1999 World Cup win.
But injuries have disrupted his involvement with the game over the last six years, including shoulder and knee problems.
Tune has ruled himself out of being considered for the World Cup later this year and said if it wasn't for the Reds' terrible 2006 season he would have given the game away already.
"Every training session I feel a twinge or my knee will hurt. There is just never any let-up," he said.
