Aussies to inspect CCI ground in Mumbai
Australia's Champions Trophy campaign takes another step forward on Wednesday with a first look at the venue for the team's opening match in Mumbai.
Ricky Ponting's 14-man squad will train at the CCI ground on Wednesday, having arrived there on Tuesday from New Delhi.
Australia will play practice matches on Thursday and on Sunday ahead of a group A clash with a qualifying side on Wednesday.
Although Simon Katich seems assured of retaining the opening batting role with Adam Gilchrist, much interest will surround his form and that of potential rival Shane Watson.
Watson, the young pace bowling allrounder, was successfully trialled as an opening batsman in last month's tri-series in Malaysia.
