Chapman wins Geelong gong
Geelong utility Paul Chapman has won his first club best-and-fairest award after a strong AFL season.
He polled 462 votes to win the "Carji" Greeves medal ahead of midfielder Jimmy Bartel (383) and Gary Ablett (371).
Chapman was a consistent highlight through Geelong's troubled season, polling in 20 of the club's 22 AFL games and earning three best-afield votes.
He was easily the Cats' best player through the second half of the season, as the voting suggested.
Chapman also won the coach's award.
He led the club in tackles and kicks and his 31 goals put him second in Geelong's goalkicking behind Ablett.
