League great's mum stuck in Beirut
The mother of NSW rugby league great Ben Elias is in Beirut and has not been heard from for days.
Barbara Elias, 72, arrived in Lebanon on holidays two days before the Israeli bombings began, but she has not spoken to her family in Australia since the weekend, Mr Elias said.
"She made a call to us a few days ago from a post office and Dad told her `to drop everything and get home'," Mr Elias told The Daily Telegraph.
But Mr Elias said he has not heard from her since, and the family was worried.
"We don't want special treatment - we just want her out," Mr Elias said.
Mrs Elias once made headlines by running onto the field after a State of Origin game to embrace her blood-covered son.
