I'd understand if Prince left: Benji
Benji Marshall wants to play out the rest of his NRL career alongside halves partner Scott Prince but says he'd understand if the Wests Tigers captain leaves the premiers.
The Tigers will be working hard to tie up the `holy trinity' of coach Tim Sheens, Prince and Marshall, who are all off contract at the end of next year.
New Zealand international Marshall is likely to stay at the Tigers, depending on whether Sheens re-signs, but doubt surrounds the future of Prince who has expressed a desire to move closer to his family in Queensland.
"I have spoken to him about it and it is up to him," Marshall said about Prince's future with the joint venture club.
"If he's homesick and he needs to be with his family then that's just how it is.
"It'd be disappointing to lose him. I'd love to play the rest of my career with him at halfback."
Fullback Brett Hodgson, who recently re-signed with the Tigers for an additional three years, said he would support whatever decision Prince made.
"He's a great player but he has to do what's best for him and his family," Hodgson said of the Clive Churchill Medallist and Kangaroo tourist.
"I don't think there's anybody at the club who wouldn't want him at the Tigers.
"If he decides that his best choice in life is to move on then I won't hold that against him."
