Pietersen in doubt for third one-dayer
Ashes star Kevin Pietersen may miss the third Super Series one-day international after suffering a hamstring injury in Friday night's second match at Telstra Dome.
Pietersen pulled up clutching his thigh after bending to field on the run in the last over of Australia's innings.
The leg immediately cramped up and he limped from the field.
After the cramp eased he still had muscle soreness and batted with Chris Gayle as a runner in the World XI's futile pursuit of the Australian total of 4-328, easily a record for the indoor venue.
The South African-born Pietersen, who topped the Ashes Test averages in his maiden series, made 16 from 22 balls before becoming Stuart Clark's first victim in international cricket.
He was caught by Shane Watson on the long-on boundary trying for his second six.
World team officials said the injury would be monitored over the next few days.
