Richmond defeated by 80 points
St Kilda honoured Nathan Burke and again showed its rich potential with an 80-point AFL demolition of Richmond at Telstra Dome.
A second-term clash between young Saints star Nick Riewoldt and Tigers forward Tim Fleming is certain to come under video scrutiny.
But Riewoldt's absence through concussion only briefly slowed St Kilda, who smashed Richmond with seven goals to one in the third term to win 20.10 (130) to 7.8 (50).
The video screens at the venue did not show replays of the Riewoldt clash, where Fleming ran across him as the Saint handballed in the midfield.
Fleming's forearm or elbow collected his face and Riewoldt was groggy when leaving the ground.
Remarkably, Riewoldt kicked three goals in four minutes when he returned to the game in the last term.
Burke ended his 323-game career, a club record, with a goal and some lively work in attack during the first half.
He and Richmond's Andrew Kellaway had to leave the field under the blood rule after clashing heads early in the last quarter.
Burke returned to the field a few minutes later with some stitches above his left eye.
Immediately after the final siren, Burke thanked the crowd and revealed exciting young Saint Xavier Clarke would wear his famous No.3 next season.
