Saints fined for rules breaches
St Kilda was fined $50,000 by the AFL for the late lodgment of five player contracts last year.
Although disappointed to have incurred the penalty, Saints chief executive Brian Waldron said the club considered the sanction to be a fair one.
As such St Kilda would not appeal the decision.
The Saints failed to submit five altered player contracts last year within the 28-day timeframe.
"It was the time after the season when the players were away from the club," said Waldron.
"This sort of thing shouldn't happen but in this case it did.
"We realise that the AFL needs to come down hard when its rules are broken.
"The breaches are fairly clear and we need to make sure it doesn't happen again."
AFL league investigations manager Ken Wood found St Kilda had breached the Player Rules on five occasions, with each incident carrying a set fine of $10,000.
Brisbane decided last week to appeal against a $260,000 fine for breaches of AFL player payment rules.
