Tuqiri cleared by ARU
Wallabies winger Lote Tuqiri is set to play his first run-on Test after receiving no penalty from the Australian Rugby Union judiciary.
Tuqiri had to appear before the committee after receiving three yellow cards in separate Super 12 and Tri-Nations matches.
A suspension would have ruled Tuqiri out of the next Tri-Nations Test against the All Blacks on July 26 in Auckland, where the former rugby league star is expected to get his first Test start in place of the injured Joe Roff.
Character references from Wallabies coach Eddie Jones, who attended the hearing at the ARU offices in North Sydney, and the Brisbane Broncos rugby league club were part of the NSW winger's case.
The committee of chairman Terry Willis and former Wallabies Rupert Rosenblum and Mick Mathers viewed video tapes of the incidents.
The hearing took just over three hours.
Tuqiri received a yellow card for a high tackle during the Waratahs Super 12 second-round clash with the Cats and was sin-binned against the Sharks the following week for kneeing.
He received an off-field yellow card after last week's Test against South Africa in Cape Town after punching Springboks' prop Robbie Kempson.
"I'm just relieved, I got a fair hearing and I want to get on with it now and hopefully get selected for the next game," Tuqiri said.
"I'm looking forward to going to Coffs Harbour tomorrow morning and going to training."
