Young UK diver Daley heading to Beijing
British diving prodigy Thomas Daley, still three months short of his 14th birthday, will become Britain's youngest male Olympian after qualifying for the Beijing Games.
Daley guaranteed his place at the Games in August by finishing seventh in the individual event at the Diving World Cup.
"The Olympics is going to be absolutely amazing," said the Plymouth schoolboy.
"Coming to Beijing is about enjoying myself, getting a bit of experience.
"Hopefully I'll be going for gold in London 2012."
The youngest British Olympic athlete was Margery Hinton, who swam at the 1928 Amsterdam Games aged 13 years and one month.
The previous youngest British male athlete was Fred Hodges, also a diver, who was 15 years and 94 days old when he competed in the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
