Mason linked to Roosters: report
Disgruntled Bulldogs forward Willie Mason says he's flattered by interest shown in him by Roosters coach Brad Fittler.
Fittler told The Daily Telegraph he was "interested" in Mason and described him as an "outstanding" player.
The newspaper reported Fittler met with Roosters supremo Nick Politis and CEO Nick Politis to discuss the possibility of signing Mason.
"It's really flattering that Freddy's saying he wants me," Mason said.
"He's going to be a great coach and I said earlier in the year I'd love to play under him."
Mason is thought to be close to leaving the Bulldogs after ongoing issues with CEO Malcolm Noad.
That came to a head on Wednesday when the Test star was reportedly threatened with a fine for missing a grand final function and wasn't allowed by the club to train and compete in a professional boxing bout.
